Testimonials

"Shane's program is one of the best speed programs that I have ever seen. It covers acceleration, speed maintenance, flexibility, and strength training. All these things are vital ingredients in producing elite times and marks. I wish that I had a program like this when I entering the track and field scene."

"In middle school I was the slowest kid in my class. After training with Shane my mechanics were perfected, and in addition my speed massively increased. In high school I was a Defensive End running a 4.5 40, and set the school squat record at 485 lbs."

"I have had the pleasure of knowing  Shane since I was in middle school (over 10 years ago) and I can say without a doubt that Coach Shane has been the most influential coach I’ve ever had in my life. I am proud to have trained under Shane for many years. I have him to thank for encouraging me in my goal to run college track, and I was fortunate to run on the Colorado School of Mines Track & Field team during the 2016-2020 seasons. Shane has a contagious passion for track & field that rubbed off on me at an early age. I was one of the only girls in my workout group when training with Shane, but he knew I could keep up with the boys, and I gained a confidence in myself as I began to see results in my performance and continued to improve year after year. When l reached high school, I really saw my training with Shane pay off. I was lucky to be a four-year Colorado State Track and Field participant, and I was a member of three relays that won 1st place at the 4A Colorado State Track and Field Championships where two of those relays set 4A state records. I was blessed to continue my track & field career in college at the Colorado School of Mines on an athletic scholarship where I am graduating with my degree in Chemistry and was on the Mines Track team all four years as a sprinter focusing on the 200m and 400m. Shane not only pushed me to become a better athlete, but also a more well-rounded individual. Shane was, and still is, a shining light– he cares about each and every one of his athletes on a personal level to ensure they grow into men & women of faith. I have nothing but fond memories of my time training with Shane, and I cannot thank him enough for sparking my passion for track and field and being an exceptional role model who exemplifies Christ in all that he does."

- Megan Maccagnan
#4 on Colorado School of Mines school record books for the indoor and outdoor 200m-M dash.

I started sprint training with Shane during my senior year of high school in 2011 before moving on to run collegiately. As a one-sport athlete focusing on track, I was ready to dedicate more time to training than the standard 5-month regiment during the spring semester, and Shane was ready to provide that. I was put on a college-level training program similar to those implemented at the University of Oregon and Baylor University, and was exposed to many new concepts I was not previously familiar with.

Over the months that he trained me, Shane was consistently dedicated to my progress. He tailored workouts to focus on my weaknesses, and constantly read new material to include in his training. We trained four times a week in the fall. He was able to effectively build my base endurance through a combination of hill runs, short-rest interval workouts, and muscle-building squats.

We transitioned into a speed endurance phase consisting of workouts such as repeat 200s and hill sprints, along with block starts, technique work, and a focus on strength-building in the gym.

We trained through my first indoor season, and Shane made sure to taper the training to post a time early before I went back to building myself up for the outdoor season. The fall weather in Colorado can be unpredictable, and with my class schedule, we spent many nights in the freezing cold finishing up workouts before going to the gym from 8-10pm, even if we had to shovel snow off the track to clear a running lane. When I did come back to my high school training, I vividly remember being in the best shape I had been up to that point, and was rolling through early season workouts like never before. I ended up running on two sprint relays in the Colorado 5A State Championship finals that year and set a 200m PR, and I know that my early season preparation with him contributed to this.

Even though I was never a top-tier athlete who would go on to individually dominate meets I went to, Shane never treated me as such. He put as much effort into me as any of the other athletes that he trained, and I am forever grateful for this. As a freshman in college, the system that I trained under was philosophically similar to what Shane put me through, and I was all the more prepared to handle it. He is someone who will put in just as much work as you do; I always felt the need to be over-prepared for meets, and Shane was willing to talk through every question I had. I am confident in his knowledge of sprint training, and his ability to work with an individual athlete to bring out the best in them.

"Shane's program develops foot speed and acceleration for the elite. The program helped me train for high school track and football. I was the track captain, football captain and athlete of the year at my high school. I then made it to the next level of football at the collegiate level thanks to my speed. Speed is so essential to all sports that its importance must not be undermined. Through all of the different training I have done the speed training from Shane Cronin was the most effective. This gives you the extra push to get to that next level."

"I trained using this program from 8th grade until 12th and it helped improve my times. When I began I ran about a 12.5 second 100 and with the speed training was able to drop to a 11.2. There is no doubt in my mind this program helped immensely and gave the results to run at the collegiate level where I am now."
